Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman during meetings with European officials will raise the issue of increasing the EU quota on Ukrainian agar products under the Agreement on Association. The Head of Government said at the cabinet meeting on Wednesday, he writes VAR referring to UNIAN.

"I raised this issue with the European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy Khan, the issue of increasing the quota for Ukrainian products where possible. Tomorrow I will raise this issue. We stand on this position, "- he said.

In turn, the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Taras Kutovoy noted the need to increase the quota to improve the country's export potential. "I ask you (Groisman - UNIAN) is regularly raising this issue", - said the head of Ministry of Agrarian Policy. Earlier Groisman said that Ukraine expects in September to receive additional trade preferences by the European Union in respect of domestic products.

In late June Kutovoy said that the Ukrainian side managed to convince the EU that the quotas for agricultural products, which is supplied to the EU market, are not permanent and figures can be revised upwards. Quotas for export of agricultural products to the European Union provided for the Association Agreement, are tariff and a mean volume of goods that can be delivered free of duties.

In 2015, Ukraine exported some products exceeding quotas - such as honey (in the past year Ukraine exceeded their tariff quota for this product in four times), juice (tariff quota exceeded seven times), maize (tariff quota is exceeded almost 20 times ).
