Oil filter H220WN [Hengst]
Manufacturer: HENGST
Country of origin: Germany
Purpose of the oil filter:
The oil filter is designed to remove harmful particles from engine oil as a result of wear of friction surfaces, as well as due to the ingress of solid fuel combustion products into the oil.
Oil filter structure:
The oil filter consists of a metal body, a filter element and two valves: a bypass valve (sometimes called a safety or bypass valve) and a non-return (anti-drain) valve.
How the oil filter works:
After starting the engine, the oil pump starts to work, which circulates oil under pressure from the oil pan to the engine. Before entering the engine, the oil passes through the filter element of the oil filter, while being cleaned of harmful impurities. When the filter element is dirty or when the engine speed rises sharply, the bypass valve is triggered, which supplies oil to the engine. The check valve keeps the oil in the filter when the engine is not running in order to quickly establish the set pressure in the system during engine start.
